Block and Limit Contact

Use block, decline, and privacy controls to limit visibility and stop unwanted interaction.

When to block

  • Block when someone makes you uncomfortable, ignores boundaries, sends unwanted invites, or behaves suspiciously.
  • Use block for stronger separation than decline or pass.
  • Blocking is also appropriate before or after reporting a safety concern.

What block does

  • Block limits visibility and messaging paths between the accounts where product rules support it.
  • A blocked person should not receive detailed information about who blocked them.
  • Block does not replace a report when behavior may violate policy or endanger someone.

Related controls

  • Decline/pass reduces repeated discovery without notifying the other person.
  • Incognito and blur controls can limit what others see before interaction.
  • Buffer Zone is designed to reduce exposure of precise real-time position.

FAQ

Is block reversible?

If unblocking is available in-app, use account privacy or safety settings. Some safety actions may not be reversible immediately.

Should I report after blocking?

Report if the behavior involved harassment, threats, impersonation, scams, illegal content, or offline safety concerns.

Can a blocked person still see me at another venue?

Blocking is designed to limit visibility and messaging paths where product rules support it. Exact behavior can vary by rollout and safety enforcement.

Is block the same as decline?

No. Decline reduces repeated discovery with less friction. Block is a stronger safety and privacy action for unwanted contact.

Can I block someone before chatting?

Yes, if the control is available from the profile or venue context. You do not need to chat before protecting your visibility or comfort.

Does deleting a chat block the person?

No. Deleting a chat changes your message view. Use block if you want to limit future visibility or contact.
